Dr. Shannon Scott Distinguished Researcher

Officially announced on September 10, 2018, seven top researchers will be able to take their work in children’s health to the next level, thanks to a $5-million gift from the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, and support from the University of Alberta & Alberta Health Services.

Dr. Shannon Scott and co-investigator Dr. Lisa Hartling are among the seven Distinguished Researchers, and will use their funding to expand their research programs. Dr. Scott and Dr. Hartling work with families of children suffering from acute illnesses that commonly present to the emergency department. Their research involves the development of innovative tools combining the latest research evidence and parent experiences with healthcare to provide information on how best to manage your child’s health issue at home and when to seek emergency care.
